no one can truly understand how one feels
but even so you must never keep everything clamped within your heart
because you're denying your friends the right to help you, to care for you
i got a b3 for higher chinese =D
not really sweet cos its not A after all,
but still considerably well cause its what i expected from my own usual standards
results are one thinghow they affect you is anothernot that im taking results lightly,
but look at them in a positive manner
we've all heard this before-
if you've done up to your expectations, congratulate yourselves and keep up the good work but do not become proud of yourselves.
if you've not performed as you wished, dont not submit to disappointment but look up and use that setback to push you further in your endeavours.
that's only on your side as an individual. think about others as well
if others have performed badly, do give them some comfort even though you dont know what to say. let them know that they do not have to bear the burden of poor results alone, their friends are there and they care for them.
people like hongnan always give nice encouraging words even though sometimes they're unwanted, but they come with kind intentions which is always kind of nice =)
*a word of caution - the stuff i've mentioned below may be damn controversial, but i dont want people to start spamming on my tagboard, so if you've something long to say, please talk to me on msn or something =) it is stuff about religion.
and i finally know why christianity is nice for lots of people.
because its one of the only religions which offer lovely care and support for their fellow christians.
until now i've never experienced an attached feeling to my religion, other than it being part of how we've gone about certain events like funerals and praying to gods.
i've been reading my sis's stuff about christianity, and lots of people found comfort and relief being a christian as there were others to guide them and share their sorrow or emotions of being lost and doubtful in their lives.
christians may say that it is God who have granted them the ability to care for others, it's God who brought those suffering to them so that through them so that God may heal those suffering through them, such that those suffering may lead happier lives and be saved.
but i say its the underlying concept of giving, of being kind, of caring for others, and the important values taught in all varying beliefs, in christianity, in confucianism, in islam, that carves out such wonderful people in our society, in our world.its the people who make the difference.i believe in the existence of someone above. but i dont believe in some concepts of christianity. thats why i refuse to accept christianity in my lives.
regardless of whether i may perish in the hell of eternal fire (in christianity), or be banished to the 18th floor of hell (in chinese legends),
as long as we live our lives right, live up to our conscience, we have nothing to fear. not that im saying we shouldnt fear anything. we should fear authority, in a way of submitting to it because that is what governs us and keeps society in order.
if it is God above who determines whether you rise to heaven because you accepted jesus in your lives, but disregards what good you have done in your lives, it is unfair, and you have to accept it. that's the cold hard truth for refusing to belief in christianity like me. life was never meant to be fair anyway (:
and that's one reason why i prefer to believe in things like karma (which is from indian religions like hinduism and buddhism).

in any case, doing good makes you happy as well, doesnt it? =D
people in the living world now will remember you for what contributions you have made to them, not what happens to you in the netherworld, or after you die.
in my own opinion, war heroes like lim bo seng, he wasnt a christian too right? who knows what was his religion anyway? yet people commemorate him by building a memorial as a form of respect for his contributions during the war. i dont care whether he rises to heaven or perishes in hell, he was a great person to me. that's all matters.
then again, how do you define what is right and wrong?
you can't totally blame terrorists for causing such suffering to others because they've been indoctrinated by their radical teachings and they think whatever they're doing is right. they probably think in the same way as me, they feel that it is right to kill anyone standing in their way because they view them as enemies, as obstacles that they must clear from their way in order to achieve their objectives. they think that they're matyrs who will save their people and further their causes and promote their beliefs. in a way, they are heroes in their own right.
but if we have to, we must stop them, because we know that they're using people as tools to achieve their objectives, and that their radical ideals and plans will destroy so many others and cause suffering to innocent people and throw society off its scale of balance and order.
i think this sums up all my thoughts about religion and part of my living principles =D
and if you've read it slowly all the way down here, i thank you for taking your time to read something that i've been thinking about for a long long time.
