hiya
holidays have officially started
been doing some REAL CIP activities for the past week
Not something crappy like the so-called "deserving of cip hours" performances by the bands and orchestras or organising SLC or some other bigshot activity which doesnt really seem like CIP, neither does it really contribute to the community -.-
-House cleanup for residents
Quite fun, seriously. Its nice to know how the residents living conditions are like and hear them share their stories as the single person in a 2 room flat (in my case). The apartment which a sec 2 proed guy and i helped to clean up was quite tidily kept, just that there were lots of dust and rubbish in harder to reach areas.
Profile of the resident : looks like 50 or 60+, lived there for 20+ years, kept lots of cute birds, has high blood pressure so cant do much of the cleanup himself, loner in his flat, doesnt even have a proper bed (mattress nia)
- Visit to old folks home
Now here is where one can put 15 years of interaction with hokkien (not just vulgarities) to use.
One of the only few could speak basic hokkien in our group which went for CIP for EOYA (now ppl would be thinking wat kind of stupid ppl would go for CIP for an end-of-year activity) but it was really enjoyable (and FOC as well).
Feel kinda zibei now...realised i cant speak hokkien fluently, and i dont noe how to express a hell lot of words in hokkien. Listening is easy, speaking is hard. There was this old man whom i talked to, he was quite open and funny, and FORTUNATELY he could speak chinese. Sigh. The other old woman could only speak hokkien. I only spoke to her every now and then. Guess wat i was doing for the most of the time?
YES. THINKING OF HOW TO TRANSLATE WAT I WANTED TO SAY/ASK INTO HOKKIEN. it really sucks to see how the others are chatting with the other elderly and she has to sit beside me (a novice in hokkien language) and stone for most of the time. bleah~
iGCSE eng exams. how stupid. taking exams after our s3 eoy exams. but certainly more challenging that our own paper..but still stupid. take this exam for wat. only get ace and a qualification nia.
