im back from holidayyyyy
OB Sabah was seriously like some one week holiday...consisted mostly of slacking, with the exception of the sian and tiring mountain climb
now, i still have quite a lot of work left so i shall scrimp and save on the intricate details of the entire 'holiday' trip:
Met 10 nice ppl, 2 whom i knew. The rest were quite "foreign" to me. Our group was probably the group with the most jokers -.- but no matter. The entire week was totally ownage with all the crappy stuff we did....
Introducing the group - MAT SALLEH (nice name)
Our instructors, of course, were the locals there and were addressed intimately as abang and kaka (brother and sister in malay). Of course, their english was abit funny (thats not the point)
but they were great =)
Day 1 : Travel to our dorms
Gathered in HCI, took bus to senai airport (in malaysia obviously) and took a nice cramped budget airline plane to sabah (not saying that it sucks but since it was my first flight i guess i better mention how amazed i was at taking a flight for the first time). Quite nice to see the clouds below you, but as it got dark you cant see much stuff anymore. The sea is also boring~
Everyone seemed excited. Dormitories were nice and clean (we didnt leave it that way though) and the dinner seemed to be okay (proven by the absence of stomach upset).
Initially i thought it would (pardon my language) suck but no, it tasted almost like singapore food (just abit too bland i guess). The night, as expected, was noisy with the shuffling of cards and the chattering from everyone...
Day 2: Island expedition
WHEEEEEE. First activity for the entire course. Started off with some sailing and rowing stuff (boring theoretical aspect) and the stupid rowing which was rather sian...going against the waves and wind isnt fun...we moved damn slowly...and my retarded oar keep knocking into the ropes for the sail (which made moving the oars doubly difficult) Btw only chunkai (in the other grp) and i vomitted on the entire sailing trip. wa sian chao zibei -.- And we also gt the benefit of getting pulled by the motor boat (since there wasnt any wind, no wind how to sail)
Aft we reached the island, got off, pitched tents, cooked (etc.) Shoes gt lots of rocks and portions of coral in it....pain sia. And VERY FORTUNATELY my sandals broke at that point of time. Not bad la, had to walk with lovely comfortable shoes for the rest of the day. Anyway, we got to see a lagoon on the island itself. Really v nice. The waters were clear, the natural beauty was really wonderful. Lots of hermit crabs crawling along the banks, the water (including the sea surrounding the island) was really clear (as compared to the dirty waters in singapore.ew.) Lots of lovely seashells as well.
Slept quite early, but got woken up for some stupid briefing. Chao cool with the breezes and everyone had a nice sleep...(at 9 pm)
Day 3 : Jungle expedition
Woke up, tried to sail back but got pulled back by motor boat again...had a quick shower, packed our stuff and headed off again for the jungle expedition. We took a bus to the starting point and were supposed to reach some peak in the forest area, but in the end we chose to go to another camping site cause we were too tired.
NOW here comes the exciting part (or freaking retarded):
We took a SUPER STEEP PATH. I CAN TELL U IN MY WHOLE LIFE I WOULD HAVE NEVER TAKEN SUCH A STUPID PATH . The path was like chao slippery thx to the rain and we were sliding here and there, treating the mud as slides from tree to tree. worst still, there were plants with thorns and i slipped like 6 times in total? We were like going down the slope den suddenly we were told, "Aiyah, you all go the wrong path, climb back up".
WTF. WTF WTF WTF. Everyone was rlly f***ed up then. Go down with so much difficulty, now have to climb back up. in the end, we dug our way back up using our hands cause there wasnt much support left (imagine the fear for your life when u grab a support and it slips downwards with u cause its a loose branch). So that was how we got to the muddy campsite where the mud would squelch whenever u stepped on it.
Heh...the next heartstopping incident occured soon after. When 3 of us went to wash our shoes and hands at the stream nearby, one lovely durian dropped. *thud* nice sound, landed like 20 cm away from us. WHAT THE HELL la. aft the close shave we had from sliding off the slope now we almost died from falling durians. no kidding matter sia...the durian tree was really very tall..about 5 stories tall at the very least...i doubt i would make it home alive if we tio zham by the durian...i would probably still be sleeping in a coma by now.
anw stop here for now still need pia hw tmr den continue...GOT SCH LEH. YAP SHINN NV ASK FOR 1 EXTRA DAY REST.
Endured till
